About the Position
Alaska Climate Justice Program is dedicated to working with Alaska Native Tribes to develop advocacy strategies, including litigation, to inform public policy at the local, national and international level. Full-time position based in Anchorage, Alaska. Telework options available.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • J.D., preference for Alaska Bar license.
  • Demonstrated commitment to human rights and climate justice.
  • Minimum two years public policy, litigation or legal work experience
  • Preferred previous work experience with Alaska Native communities.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work with Alaska Native Tribes on public policy and advocacy issues to support Alaska Native communities to respond to the climate crisis;
  • Work with federal and state government agencies to advance climate justice and access to funding and technical assistance;
  • Draft legislative analysis, position statements, white papers, reports, articles, fact sheets and issue briefs.

Salary: 80,000-95,000 per year
