Our internships are project-based; therefore, the skills that we seek vary based on the needs of the projects during each term. All majors are welcome to apply, but please see education experience/requirements for specifics about what disciplines each internship project is seeking.
Internships are part-time (15 hours a week) during the school year and full-time (40 hours a week) during the summer.
In this role within the Transit Systems unit, interns will:
The goal of this internship is to help the CTA Transit Systems team in updating the transit web applications onto a more modern technical platform. In addition, the intern will learn CTA business processes and how to gather business requirements as additional projects come online. The intern will work on live operational systems under guidance for tasks associated with coding and programming. This is an excellent opportunity for students in their third or fourth year of undergraduate studies to get exposed to the technology field.
Qualifications
Minimum Level of Education: Undergraduate Senior
Preferred Major(s): Data Science, Computer Science, Human Computer Interaction, Software Development, Web Development, Information Systems, Information Technology, Software Engineering
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Communication skills
Organization skills
Familiarity with full stack web development
HTML, XML, CSS, Javascript experience
Python coding experience
SQL coding experience
.Net experience
Web Architecture - MVC
Familiarity with Angular, React, Spring or Django framework
Additional Details
Final salary will be determined in part by the qualifications of the selected candidate and may be higher or lower than target.
