Position: VICE PRESIDENT

Department: Client Services

Location: Washington, DC or Remote

Salary Range: $85,000 to $100,000 annually

Bonus Range (even-numbered years only): $25,000 to $40,000

We work with the nation’s top Democratic candidates and allied organizations as a part of the consulting team for Presidential, U.S. Senate, Gubernatorial, Congressional, municipal, issue advocacy, and initiative campaigns across the country. Job Description

  • Vice Presidents work directly with firm Principals to manage projects and account team staff. This is a client-facing role that has broad interaction with leaders in the progressive campaign community, campaign managers, and candidates. Responsibilities include:
  • Recruit, Training and Manage account team staff
  • Serve as primary client and project manager lead, managing client relationships from planning to execution of mail plans
  • Oversee the creative and production process including but not limited to writing and concepting mail pieces, digital products, and mail plans
  • Use political judgement to determine the targeting for each mail program, working with outside analysts and data scientists as necessary
  • Develop and manage mail plan budgets and invoicing through the financial lifecycle.
  • Work closely with principal in marketing prospective new clients and organizational outreach
  • Work directly with the principal to advise on polling research and campaign plans
  • Collaborate, as needed, with other campaign vendors (e.g. pollster, digital, TV, etc.) on a campaign strategy
  • Depending on staffing levels, perform all account team related tasks


Qualifications

  • 6+ years (3 cycle equivalent) of campaign or other political project management and staff management experience (e.g. campaign management, directing field program or program direction at a progressive organization)
  • Experience managing, training, hiring, and motivating staff in person or remotely, both empathetically and fairly
  • Excellent attention to detail and project management skills
  • Budget development and oversight experience on a campaign or political project
  • Ability to communicate effectively across different mediums, both internally within a team setting and externally with clients and other stakeholders
  • Strong proactive, problem-solving skills
  • Ability to juggle and prioritize multiple projects on a short timeline
  • Experience with political targeting; proficient with the VAN
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly MS Excel and Google business products
  • Passion and commitment to electing Democrats and making progressive change
  • Willingness to work campaign-style hours as necessary
  • Experience building relationships of trust with communities of color

 

Additional Qualifications (not required)

  • Fluency in spoken or written Spanish
  • Experience using Catalist, including pulling counts and exporting data
