Job Description

About 9/11 Day

9/11 Day, the respected national nonprofit, was founded in 2002 by relatives and friends of those killed in the 9/11 attacks, with the goal of “taking back the day” by transforming the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks into a National Day of Service under federal law. 9/11 Day accomplished that objective in 2009 with the passage of federal legislation that designated September 11 as a “National Day of Service and Remembrance,” now known widely as “9/11 Day.” Today, 9/11 Day leads the 9/11 Day observance in partnership with the federal government and, since 2009, has successfully grown 9/11 Day into the largest annual day of service in America, with tens of millions of participants.
