Administrative Assistant

Campaign for an Elected Civilian Review Board
New York, NY, USA
Posted

Job Description

About the NYC Campaign for an Elected Civilian Review Board:

We are a multi-racial, multi-generational, grassroots coalition of organizations and individuals fighting for an Elected Civilian Review Board (ECRB) to replace the ineffective current Civilian Complaint Review Board in New York City. We seek to achieve this through an amendment to the NYC Charter. The ECRB is a necessary mechanism to curb police violence by giving real recourse to victims of police abuse. It would empower the community with oversight and measures to hold the police accountable for their protocols and actions. The campaign works democratically to win this reform, and actively works to center the communities most affected by police violence by building participation and encouraging the leadership of those individuals. We make decisions by majority vote in general meetings and participation is open to all those who agree with our goal.
