We are seeking a talented and dynamic Assistant Account Executive to join our growing team and bring our core values to life.
The Assistant Account Executive plays a role on 4-6 client accounts, including public affairs, advocacy, and trade association clients operating in complex and rapidly changing policy environments. AAEs support executing Scope-of-Work (SOW) activities, including media relations, content creation, digital activity, research, monitoring, and reporting.
The ideal candidate is a strong writer and thoughtful communicator with a genuine interest in politics, policy, and current events. This person should bring sound judgment, intellectual curiosity, and an eagerness to contribute ideas.

What You’ll Do:
- Support public affairs, advocacy, and trade association accounts through media relations, industry monitoring, and research.
- Closely follow political, legislative, regulatory, and industry developments and make recommendations based on emerging trends.
- Support project management by developing and maintaining weekly updates, agendas, action items, timelines, daily monitoring reports, and other materials that keep client teams organized and workstreams moving forward.
- Participate actively in client and internal strategy discussions, bringing informed questions, observations, and recommendations.
- Email/communicate directly with clients.
- Work with client teams to respond quickly and deliver on client requests.
- Execute communications tactics on behalf of clients, including developing media lists, pitching media, crafting coverage reports, creating social content, and drafting op-eds, press releases, and research memos.
- Find opportunities to mentor Account Coordinators and Fellows.
- Supports business development efforts through research and internal brainstorms.

Qualifications/Required Skills:
- 1-2 years of professional communications experience.
- Demonstrated interest in politics, public policy, current events, and the intersection of government, business, and public opinion.
- Strong writing skills across formats, including media materials, talking points, memos, digital content, and client communications.
- Comfortable with Microsoft and Google office products.
- Interested in using practical applications of AI.
- Experience with media relations techniques and pitching media.
- Seeks and is receptive to feedback; puts feedback into action.
- Mastery of AP Style and exceptional attention to detail.
The salary range for this position is $49,500 - $66,400.
