Assistant Financial Analyst, Federal Awards
Location: New York, NY (Hybrid)

This is a newly created position in our growing Finance team.
What you will do:
Under the direction of the Manager of Federal Awards, the staff person will support the Federal Technical Assistance (TA) team that currently has contracts with HHS and HUD and will have the following responsibilities:
- Assists with providing business support to the Federal Technical Assistance team in financial matters with focus on added value services which include but not limited to preparing financial reports, accounts receivable billing, forecasting, project and organizational budgets, award closeouts and financial analyses
- Prepares in-depth analyses of revenue and expense variances, providing insight into project financial performance through analyses of current and prior period changes, variances from budget and project future impact
- Assists and/or provide backup coverage to the Manager of Federal Awards in presenting monthly financial statements, explaining budget variances, providing actionable recommendations to ensure compliance with the terms of the funder agreements
- Prepares and compiles all reports and supporting documents for accounts receivable invoicing and submits invoices to federal agencies in a timely manner
- Prepares and reviews accuracy of reports, calculates expenditures per cooperative agreements for quarterly meetings with HUD, and completes the SF-424
- Leads or assists with project record setup and maintenance in NetSuite and responds to inquiries and requests by program staff
- Uploads all approved project budgets into NetSuite and coordinates with program staff on budget modifications
- Partners with the Grants and Contracts Administrator to process federally-funded subgrants and subcontracts which include but not limited to procurement/solicitation, preparation of formal agreements/documents; securing appropriate financial authorization and signature; performing record maintenance; and disbursements of all subgrant and subcontract awards
- Collaborates with Finance staff to ensure that all federally-funded award financial transactions are recorded timely and accurately
- Responds to audit requests and completes deliverables
- Stays abreast with federal regulations, policies and procedures, and guidelines to ensure agency compliance

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related field, or substitute with 2 years of related experience
- Knowledge of 2CFR 200 and the FAR
- Nonprofit accounting experience a plus
- Ability to gather, organize, and perform financial analysis assignments with limited supervision
- Strong analytical skills and attention to details
- Proven ability to work on multiple deliverables concurrently
- Excellent communication skills
Compensation:
CSH offers generous benefits, opportunities for professional growth, and competitive salaries based on geographic location. Our range in New York for this role is $62,400 - $75,000. Our ranges are broad, and it is customary for candidates to join CSH at the lower half of the range to leave room for growth, learning, and development in the role and range. It is uncommon for starting salaries to fall above the mid-point. We negotiate actual salaries with final candidates based on their exact location, experience in similar roles, and expertise related to the qualifications.
