Job Description
This is an exciting and unique opportunity to join an innovative and growing national team at Uncornered. Based in Boston, the role is designed to increase the visibility and funding of Uncornered with private and public institutional sources while building and developing a robust Development Team. As our Associate Director of Development, you will report to and work in close collaboration with the Director of Development to design and execute the development strategy for Uncornered as it expands into new cities and communities in Massachusetts and beyond.

The roles and responsibilities outlined below are a general framework of the Associate Director of Development’s work. Team Strategist
- Collaborate to design and develop strategy and implementation of Development Team’s goals, initiatives and priorities.
- Research the donor landscape to help implement appropriate fundraising strategies to advance corporate/foundation giving.
- Serve as functional expert and thought partner with the Director of Development and Senior Leadership Team.
- Research and prospect funding associated with Boston Uncornered’s current goals and priorities.
Team Leader
- Supervise growing development team members (Communications Coordinator, Manager of Individual Giving, Grant Writing Consultants)
- Support, develop and lead team with guiding principles as the core to how we work together
- Coach team to deepen understanding of Uncornered’s vision, develop skill and ensure alignment with organizational goals
Grant Writer and Administrator
- Manage grant applications and reports
- Steward relationships with existing funders and develop relationships with new funders.
- Enthusiastically take on other assigned projects as needed
Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 7-8 years of development experience
- Demonstrated skill and experience with development and fundraising, including grant prospecting, writing, donor solicitation and management.
- Detailed planner with the ability to structure a large and multifaceted workload and navigate within varying degrees of ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of Google Apps and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with database and grant tracking systems is a plus (Raiser’s Edge)
- Experience and desire to work in a mission driven organization undergoing organizational change and growth
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
