Campaign Coordinator United Way of the Northern Shenandoah Valley (UWNSV) 📍 Winchester, VA | Full-Time | In-Person | $40,000 - $55,000

About the Role

UWNSV is spearheading the Winchester Campaign for Grade-Level Reading, a collective impact initiative bringing together local nonprofits, small businesses, government agencies, community leaders, and the municipal school district. Our mission is to increase the Virginia SOL Reading pass rate to over 75% by 2032 by improving reading proficiency for all students by 3rd grade.

The Campaign Coordinator is the operational and strategic hub of this Campaign. This role drives coordination across partner organizations, owns the full meeting management lifecycle, leads marketing and communications, and supports strategic priorities in close partnership with the Director of Impact and Advancement.

What You'll Do

Meeting Management (Core Responsibility)

  • Prepare agendas and materials for all Campaign meetings
  • Manage scheduling, calendar invites, and meeting logistics
  • Take accurate minutes and maintain a living action item tracker with proactive follow-up
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Campaign partners between meetings
  • Own and maintain the master Campaign calendar

Strategic Campaign Support

  • Coordinate information, activities, and data across all Campaign partners and work groups
  • Track and report on Campaign progress for the Steering Committee and UWNSV leadership
  • Support committee and work group leaders with administrative and operational needs
  • Track grant deliverables and contribute to funding applications
  • Present on the Campaign to partners, the UWNSV Board, and community supporters

Marketing & Communications

  • Create Campaign graphics, flyers, and visual assets
  • Develop and distribute a regular Campaign newsletter
  • Maintain and update the Campaign website
  • Manage social media content and community engagement across Campaign platforms

Who You Are

We welcome candidates from a variety of backgrounds. The right person brings strong organizational skills, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for community impact. Relevant experience includes:

  • Executive or senior administrative assistance with ownership of calendars, meetings, and stakeholder communication
  • Teaching or education experience, particularly in early childhood, K-12, or literacy settings
  • Project or program coordination across multiple stakeholders and deadlines
  • 3+ years of professional experience in a coordination, administrative, teaching, or related role

A degree is preferred but not required - equivalent experience will be considered.

Technical Skills

Required: MS Office Suite, Outlook Preferred: Canva or Adobe Suite, Mailchimp or similar, social media platforms, WordPress or similar CMS
