The Office of Congresswoman Luz Rivas (CA-29) is seeking a hardworking, organized, and reliable Caseworker based in the San Fernando Valley in a full-time capacity. This is not an entry level position.

Ideal candidate must possess time management skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Candidates will be responsible for handling casework correspondence, including - verbal and electronic communication with constituents, and acting as a liaison with federal, district and local agencies. Additionally, this role will process casework assignments and assess casework challenges requiring district or legislative action and make recommendations to the District Director as well as provide weekly reports for the District Director and Chief of Staff on open, pending and closed cases. This role will continuously screen active cases and act as liaison with constituents to ensure that their cases are handled in a responsive manner and maintain up-to-date and detailed files on all cases. Occasionally this role may be assigned other duties, including administrative or outreach such as mobile office hours in the community.

Candidates should have excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to work under pressure and a strong commitment to public service. Ability to work independently as well as a team player. This role regularly interacts with constituents and stakeholders and should have a friendly and professional demeanor. Must possess the ability to exercise discretion and independent judgement. 

This position works closely with the District Director and alongside the District team, as well as the DC office to ensure strong communication and collaboration. The position requires the flexibility to work long hours. Diverse and bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply. Previous government/public sector and customer service experience are a plus.
