The Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) Communications team is looking for a communications professional with expertise in building compelling stories, bringing to life impactful communications/PR campaigns, and engaging with press and influencers.
As a Communications Director within the Chase Card Communications team, you will be a member and leader of a high-performing team that communicates with honesty, authenticity, and empathy. You will be supporting the #1 credit card issuer in the US. You will shape go-to-market external communications strategies for the Chase Branded Card portfolio (Sapphire, Freedom, and Ink), as well as branded programs including the Chase Sapphire Lounge.
Job responsibilities:
- Develop, present, and execute strategic and tactical communications/public relations campaigns that drive business outcomes.
- Serve as strategic communications counsel to Chase branded card business team leaders and managers.
- Collaborate with internal and external Chase marketing support teams (social, brand/advertising, video, content), business leaders, and support agencies to tell a holistic story.
- Oversee management of communications/PR agency on campaign execution and measurement.
- Partner with internal communications team members to pull through meaningful storylines within Chase.
- Oversee talent and influencer management for PR purposes.
- Protect and enhance the reputation of the firm – both externally and among employees.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- 10+ years of experience in a communications/PR or marketing role.
- Executive communications experience – consulting directly with senior executives and internal subject matter experts who serve as topical spokespeople.
- Proven experience in proactive and reactive media relations, and proactively executing public relations campaigns that resulted in positive press coverage.
- Media relations expertise with strong relationships across business, finance, and lifestyle media.
- Experience working with celebrity talent, creators, and social media influencers, including managing influencer campaigns.
- Superior writing and editing skills.
- Build meaningful narratives, storylines, and tell a story visually.
- Fluent across social media and other multimedia channels with experience managing influencer programs.
- Previously led high-performing teams.
- Domestic and international travel.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Public relations agency experience.
- Financial services, credit cards, or consumer product industries experience.
- Experience working on an integrated marketing team.
- High level of independence, energy, and integrity, demonstrating respect for a diversity of opinions and styles, and taking accountability/accepting responsibility.
- Negotiation and influencing skills.
- Go-getter with the ability to deliver on tight deadlines – and sometimes outside traditional business hours.
