Overview
The session-only (Jan-May) policy analyst will provide detailed research and analysis of legislation for the Senate Minority caucus and staff. We are seeking a policy-oriented individual who works well under pressure and changing circumstances.
Responsibilities
- Read all legislation that is introduced
- Work collaboratively with the Senate Minority policy staff to conduct research and strategic analysis
- Assist the policy staff in preparing memos and reports as needed
- Preparation of legislative research for Senators during committee meetings
- Meet with Senators regularly to discuss committee schedule

Qualifications
- Familiarity with the Colorado (Download PDF reader)legislative process (Download PDF reader) andrecent legislation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
- Strong reading comprehension and writing skills
- Must be adaptable in a constantly changing environment and willing to work long hours
- Must be able to work in an organized manner, with the ability to collaborate, problem solve, and work on a team while also taking individual responsibility to complete assignments
- The individual in this position will maintain professionalism with every person they work with, including non-partisan staff, legislators and staff of the House and Senate Majority offices, constituents, and lobbyists
Compensation
- $4,000-5,000/month commensurate with experience
