Job Description
Congressman Shri Thanedar is looking for an in-person Communications Assistant based in his Washington, DC. Congressman Thanedar prioritizes communicating with constituents and is looking for someone that can relay his priorities, work, and accomplishments to his constituents in a clear, distinctive, and captivating manner.
The ideal candidate is someone that is creative, highly organized, a self-starter, understands how to prioritize their time, technologically savvy, and able to work effectively in a team environment. Graphic design skills are highly preferred. The right candidate will be someone that can take the initiative, ask questions, and get things done.
Responsibilities:
- Work with Congressman Thanedar to understand his priorities and what is of importance to constituents of Michigan’s 13th District.
- Proactively seek and execute earned media opportunities including but not limited to op-eds, press releases, radio and tv appearances, and fielding requests from various press outlets.
- Help design and place franked communications including but not limited to emails, social media, mail, video ads, and teletownhalls.
- Work with legislative and district staff to effectively communicate Congressman Thanedar’s priorities and accomplishments to constituents.
- Proactively pitch creative ideas for communication efforts.
Salary will be commensurate with experience.
