Position Overview
Lilette Advisors is seeking a Communications Associate to join our dynamic team. In this versatile role, you will support a variety of communications and public affairs strategies for our diverse clients. This position is ideal for a creative and strategic thinker who is enthusiastic about contributing to client success and helping them achieve their goals through impactful communications.
As a Communications Associate, you will be responsible for producing original content, assisting with media outreach, and managing social media strategies. You will also collaborate on strategic communication planning and client deliverables while working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The role offers an opportunity to engage with a range of clients and contribute to shaping influential public affairs and media strategies. The position can be remote, but candidates based in the DC Metro area are encouraged to interact with team members in person.

Key Responsibilities
Communications & Public Affairs Support:
- Assist with the development and execution of strategic communication plans for for local, regional, national, and/or global audiences.
- Produce and manage content for client communications, including op-eds, press releases, media statements, briefing documents, organic social media content, and other communications materials.
- Create and implement social media strategies, ensuring alignment with client objectives.
- Write for a variety of formats, including talking points, presentations, analyses, and creative materials.
- Conduct media outreach to secure media coverage and prepare regular reports on communication efforts, including clips and other metric tracking.
- Assist with internal communication needs, ensuring clear and effective communication across the team.
- Plan and assist in executing events and key moments for clients.
Client Service & Research Support:
- Provide support to client teams in the preparation of client-facing deliverables and reports.
- Collaborate with senior team members to draft presentations, plans, and briefs.
- Analyze news, data and insights to inform strategy and decision-making for clients.
- Respond to client requests in a timely manner.
Project Management & Administrative Support:
- Coordinate logistics for client meetings and ensure all materials are prepared and on time.
- Provide administrative support to the client team, including organizing files, meeting agendas and managing communication workflows.
- Assist with scheduling and ensuring that all project deadlines are met.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Policy, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in communications, public relations, or a related field.
- Proven ability to write, edit, and produce persuasive content, including op-eds, press releases, presentations, and research documents.
- Demonstrated experience in managing social media content and developing social media strategies.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to generate professional and engaging policy content.
- Highly organized, flexible, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office Suite, Cision, and relevant subscription-based research tools.
- A self-motivated, detail-oriented individual who can work both independently and collaboratively.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary: $55,000–$75,000 (commensurate with experience).
- Eligible for an annual performance-based bonus
- Comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off, maternity/paternity leave, health benefits, and a 401K plan.
