Position Overview
The George Conway for Congress campaign is seeking to hire a driven, well-organized, and hardworking member of the team to lead our communications department.
The Communications Director will work closely with the broader communications team to develop and execute a dynamic, multi-platform earned media strategy that engages with voters wherever they are. New York’s 12th Congressional District is among the most competitive in the country and regularly draws national attention.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage strategies to increase engagement on social media platforms.
- Develop and manage relationships with local press outlets.
- Draft and circulate press releases, newsletters, and other written materials for the candidate and the campaign.
- Film, edit, and post direct-to-camera content to share across platforms.
Qualifications
- Hardworking, organized, with the ability to learn quickly.
- Proficient with basic filming and editing software.
- Proficient with filming and recording equipment from cell phones to basic stand-alone equipment.
- Proficient writing and communication skills with a strong understanding of social media.
Location & Compensation
- Based in New York City; in-person work expected.
- This is a full-time position through the primary election.
- Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
