SUMMARY
This position supports marketing and communications efforts across BiG operations, including Development, Program, Shop, and Café. This individual will collaborate with managers and directors across departments to ensure consistent, clear, and on-brand communication. This role is responsible for executing day-to-day content, storytelling, and marketing needs across the organization.
- ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Ability to wear multiple hats with creativity and a genuine desire to serve others with strong attention to detail. Ability to adhere to deadlines and manage multiple priorities at once.
Work closely with leadership to plan and execute the social media calendar, sharing content that reflects all aspects of BiG across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and others.
Create and schedule consistent social media content, including an average of 4 to 5 posts per week and regular video content.
Capture and document meaningful moments across campus to visually and digitally communicate the mission of BiG. Contribute to and maintain the BiG photo and content database.
Support communication efforts including email campaigns, digital updates, and storytelling initiatives.
Assist with the design and execution of marketing materials for campaigns, events, and general organizational needs, including signage, promotional materials, and basic design support.
Work within established brand guidelines to ensure consistency and quality across all platforms and materials.
Track and report basic engagement metrics related to social media and digital communication efforts.
Coordinate marketing timelines and projects to ensure deadlines are met and communication remains consistent across departments.
Support the overall work of the Development department in other ways as needed, contributing to a collaborative and mission-driven team environment.

A.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE-An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or a related field is preferred, though equivalent work experience or coursework will be considered. This is an entry-level position; candidates with internship experience, coursework portfolios, or demonstrated self-directed content creation are encouraged to apply.
- SKILLS AND ABILITIES– Candidates should possess a positive, team-oriented attitude with a genuine desire to serve others and a willingness to learn. Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook) and basic design tools such as Canva is expected. Experience with photography, short-form video, or content creation is a plus. Candidates must be proficient in or willing to learn tools such as Email, SharePoint, Outlook, Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word), and Teams.
- LANGUAGE SKILLS-Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally in written and verbal form. Strong copywriting and proofreading skills are important, as this role regularly produces public-facing content. Must be comfortable interacting with staff, volunteers, and community members across all areas of campus.
- CREATIVE THINKING AND EXECUTION-Candidates mustdemonstratethe ability to think innovatively and bring fresh, creative ideas to content, campaigns, and communications. Equally important is the administrative follow-through to plan, organize, and execute those ideas effectively. This role requires someone who can generate compelling concepts and see them through to completion with attention to detail, clear timelines, and consistent quality.
- Reasoning Ability– Candidates should be resourceful and able to think creatively when approaching content and communication challenges. Must be able to manage competing priorities, adapt to shifting timelines, and bring a solutions-oriented mindset to day-to-day tasks.

- PHYSICAL DEMANDS –The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, an employee is frequently required to sit and work at a computer terminal for long periods of time. Talking and hearing over the telephone are required. The incumbent is also required to stand and walk among buildings on campus. Specific vision abilities are required by this job include close and color vision.
