The Role

Aebly Media presents every story from multiple perspectives — and we need writers who can authentically represent each one. We're looking for a Conservative Political Writer who holds genuine conservative convictions and can articulate the right-leaning perspective on the news, legislation, elections, and policy with clarity, substance, and intellectual honesty. This isn't about spin or talking points — it's about giving readers a real, well-reasoned conservative lens on the issues that matter, so they can compare perspectives and form their own conclusions.

What you'll do

• Write perspective-driven articles and analysis on political news, legislation, elections, and policy from a conservative viewpoint
• Cover national and state-level developments including bills, executive orders, court rulings, candidate races, and ballot issues
• Provide substantive conservative framing that goes beyond surface-level partisanship — explain the principles, values, and reasoning behind the position
• Work alongside liberal and center writers to ensure Aebly's multi-perspective coverage is balanced, fair, and genuinely representative
• Collaborate asynchronously with editors, media trackers, and the editorial team to align coverage with Aebly's content calendar and breaking news
• Ground every piece in verifiable facts and sourced claims — Aebly makes bias explicit, not invisible, and readers trust us because we don't fabricate

What we're looking for

• A strong, authentic conservative perspective rooted in genuine conviction, not performance
• Excellent writing skills with the ability to explain complex political issues clearly and persuasively
• Intellectually honest — willing to engage with the strongest version of opposing arguments, not strawmen
• Comfortable being labeled and transparent about perspective — Aebly's model depends on readers knowing where a piece is coming from
• Able to work remotely, respond asynchronously on Slack, and meet editorial deadlines
• Follows politics closely at the national and state level

Helpful but not required

• Previous political writing, journalism, opinion, or editorial experience
• Experience covering policy, legislation, campaigns, or government
• Published work in conservative media, campus publications, think tanks, or independent platforms
• Campaign, government, Hill, or civic engagement experience
• Familiarity with AP style or editorial standards
