Congressman Jason Crow (CO-06) is seeking a motivated Constituent and Outreach Advocate for his Aurora office. This position would be providing casework assistance on a myriad of issues for CD-06 constituents, including for veterans, military members, and district businesses and business groups.


The Constituent and Outreach Advocate will also work closely with the District Director, other District staff, and staff in the Washington DC, office.


Responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring casework trends to provide updates to the Member and District Director
  • Preparing incoming and outgoing constituent casework to manage casework in assigned areas of expertise
  • Maintaining accurate and complete files on all assigned casework to keep track of all casework progress
  • Screening and monitoring cases to determine if referring the case to other government entities is appropriate
  • Answering casework correspondence, meets with constituents, and serves as a liaison with federal, state, and local authorities to act as the representative for the Member within their areas of responsibility
  • Writing responses to constituent letters relating to casework to answer questions or inform them of case progress
  • Attending community meetings to support public events
  • Building relationships with communities within their portfolio
  • Creating a plan for their outreach portfolios to continue and improve relationships between the Congressman’s office and constituents and stakeholders.
  • Working with team members to implement District Events with the Congressman, as well as office Mobile Office Hours and Resource fairs.

Preferences:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
  • Prior experience working for federal, state, or local government, especially related to casework is preferred
  • Experience handling sensitive information and maintaining confidentiality is preferred
  • Background with military and/or veterans affairs, working with small, mid-size, and large businesses.

 

The salary for this position is $60,000 per year. In addition, the Congressman’s office offers a competitive package of benefits, including health insurance, transit benefits/parking, 401(k) retirement match, student loan repayment/tuition assistance, paid family leave, and more.
