POSITION: Constituent Coordinator
OVERVIEW
The Office of State Representative Edgar Gonzalez, Jr. is seeking a detailed and community-minded individual for the role of Constituent Coordinator. The position provides highly motivated individuals an opportunity to experience the operations of state government firsthand.
This is a full-time, in-person position responsible for connecting government offices and services with the public. Their primary responsibility is to assist constituents with concerns related to government programs, policies, and services. This individual will also play a vital role in engaging with community members outside of the district office, building relationships, and ensuring effective communication between community organizations and our office.
The Constituent Coordinator will also have the opportunity to work on special projects throughout their time at the office. This position has an annual salary range of $40,000- $50,000 with benefits, contingent on capacity and experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a liaison between constituents/community stakeholders and government agencies.
- Respond to inquiries via phone, email, and in-person meetings.
- Provide guidance on navigating government services and programs.
- Maintain records of constituent interactions and resolutions.
- Organize community events and forums for public engagement.
- Advocate for constituent concerns within government offices.
- Monitor policy changes and communicate relevant updates to the public.
- Develop and implement outreach programs to engage the community.
- Organize events, workshops, and forums to promote awareness.
- Maintain records of outreach activities and engagement efforts.
- Collaborate with government agencies, nonprofits, and local leaders
- Represent the office at community events and meetings when necessary.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: At least an Associates degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Prior work in customer service, public relations, or government affairs is beneficial.
- Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with local government policies and procedures.
- Bilingual: Conversational and written fluency in Spanish required.
