Office of U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand seeks a Constituent Liaison for the New York City office. Applicants must be self-motivated team players, able to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality, have strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, and be proficient in Word and Excel. This position will primarily be responsible for planning events and staffing a mobile office to offer constituents the opportunity to discuss casework needs with staffers in their own neighborhoods. You must have a valid NY driver’s license, be at least 26 (in order to qualify for office-provided vehicle insurance) and be able to drive an 11-passenger van throughout New York City and surrounding areas.

Preferred candidates for this position have experience providing constituent service and must enjoy working with people of all walks of life. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: working with staff in NY and DC to schedule multiple weekly mobile office hours including site selection, staffing, security and all logistical arrangements; responding to constituent requests; managing a portfolio of federal agency casework; maintaining detailed notes; collaborating and supporting relationships with key stakeholders; participating in community events; staffing the Senator or representing the office at events across the city; researching issues impacting constituents; training and supervising interns; and other duties as required.
