Duties

Constituent Service

Support constituents in addressing a variety of neighborhood-focused concerns, including nuisances, trash pickup, stray animals, broken pipes, and permit concerns. This involves:

  • Liaising with district council offices and city departments, using critical thinking and guidance from office leadership skills to identify the correct decision-making parties.
  • Superb organizational skills to track actions and follow-up.
  • A combination of tenacity and courteousness, with a strong underpinning of empathy and patience. Emotional spaciousness to listen with compassion to residents who may be experiencing intense emotions like anger and frustration.

Additionally, represent the Office at a few weekly community meetings on weeknights and weekends. This requires notetaking, earnest listening, and brief public speaking.

Operations Support

  • Scheduling - Adding event and invitation information to Office calendars, following up with staff and organizations to confirm details and attendance
  • Technical support for Council committee meetings, such as running powerpoint
  • Managing event logistics such as ordering and picking up refreshments, handling check-in for attendees at events, arranging table assignments, printing and setting out nametags or meeting documents, reserving venues and meeting rooms
  • Document production, formatting, and sharing such as for committee agendas, certificates of appreciation, letters of support for community grants
  • Supporting the team in data entry and tracking such as for constituent services provided
  • Answering phones in the Office and reviewing email correspondence, to direct both to appropriate staff member

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
