Job Description

The Arctic Defense Campaign (ADC) is comprised of a coalition of non-profit organizations working to permanently protect the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and the Western Arctic Reserve in Alaska from oil and gas development. The ADC Coordinator will serve as a core member of the Campaign Team by assisting the Director in the day-to-day operations of the campaign and will report to the Director.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide logistical support including managing internal coalition communication and scheduling, assist with outside vendors, and event planning.
  • Track the activities, needs, metrics and meetings for multiple coalition sub-teams, seeking opportunities for cross-team collaboration.
  • Project manage or assist with the creation of campaign materials as appropriate.
  • Serve as a liaison between campaign subgroups and campaign leadership and work with ADC staff and consultants to implement campaign plan strategies and tactics and assist in the coordination of coalition activities.
  • Support communications activities and help broadcast and promote ADC work.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of relevant work experience, including at least 1 year providing programmatic and/or administrative support; coalition and/or non-profit experience a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Passion for supporting indigenous rights, wildlife and land conservation, and combating climate change.
  • Excellent relationship-building, communication, and writing skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, social media platforms, and ability to update and maintain website content.
  • Ability to work both independently and in teams and to manage multiple tasks, pitching in where and when needed.

The strongest candidates will also have:

  • Knowledge or experience around issues affecting Native American or Alaska Native communities.
  • Interest in advocacy and desire to learn about new ways to influence public opinion and policy.
