Job Description
A coordinator in the New York Jets Communications Department plays a key role in the department. This position is responsible for developing essential relationships throughout the organization and ensuring the department is up to speed on taking a key role in messaging players and coaches. The individual in this role must have the ability to work with many individuals from different backgrounds while putting the organization in the best possible position to succeed. Finally, this position must assist the Vice President of the department in navigating threats to current tactics and/or strategies.

- Serve as the main credential’s contact for the organization fulfilling season-long and individual game credential requests in addition to practice and various other events
- Help plan and prepare media pitches, both for the football team and corporate endeavors
- Staff and assist planning of corporate communication events
- Assist in the maintenance of the team’s media website
- Prepare interview preparation documents for both players, coaches, and executives
- Maintain department’s pitch calendar
- Ensure the Daily Clips, Broadcast Clips and Social Clips are compiled, distributed and cataloged
- Continuously monitor social media, TV and the internet for team-related news
- Record and transcribe press conferences and player availabilities
- Organize player interviews
- Secure interviews and appearances with players
- Daily interaction with media members
- Gameday responsibilities when team is at home and on the road
- Assist in managing interview/appearance document
- Serve as department’s main contact for FLIK and DNC

- College graduate with a concentration in Communications, Public Relations or related background
- 2+ years in sports communications
- Familiarity with Accredit credentialing system is a plus
- Strong writing skills; proven experience in use of AP style preferred
- Experience with Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop and Canva a plus
- Proficiency with football statistics and statistical websites a plus
- Must be able to work at least 40 hours per week including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Position is based in Florham Park, NJ. Frequent travel is required to MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ. Candidate is required to provide own transportation to and from locations
- Able to travel with the team for games during the season, as well as potential offseason travel to Senior Bowl, Combine, Draft, International Jets Events
- Candidates should be prepared for primarily on-site work
Salary range for this role: USD $45,000 to $55,000 per year and discretionary annual company bonus, dependent on the specific qualifications of the successful candidate.
