Overview
The Joe and Jill Biden Foundation seeks a part-time summer intern to support President Biden’s Correspondence team. The Correspondence Intern will support day-to-day correspondence operations and will report to the Deputy Director and Director of Correspondence.

Responsibilities

  • Reading, processing, and responding to physical mail, gifts, and emails received by President and Dr. Biden.

  • Logging requests from the general public for milestone greetings (i.e. weddings, birthdays, graduations, military retirements) and sending greetings out on behalf of President and Dr. Biden.

  • Drafting custom correspondence as needed.

  • Managing a team of volunteers who support mail operations.

This position will receive a stipend. Hours are flexible, though a minimum of 20 hours per week is required. The role is based out of the Washington, D.C. office, with some remote work. The summer internship will run from June 8-August 14, 2026.

Qualifications

The ideal applicant will have a passion for public service and be a strong writer and communicator.

Program participants must be at least 18 years or older before the first day of the program and be currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate degree program at a college, community college, or university.
