Job Description
Senator Welch is seeking a proactive, experienced Counsel to work on a variety of issues that fall under the Judiciary Committee’s jurisdiction. Issues may include patent law, intellectual property, artificial intelligence, antitrust, the intersection of technology and privacy, and other topics under the Committee’s jurisdiction as assigned. A background in these subject matter areas is strongly preferred. Responsibilities may include developing, monitoring, and managing legislation; preparing for hearings; working with stakeholders and federal agencies; supervising junior legislative staffers; and drafting memos, letters, and talking points. Qualified candidates should be entrepreneurial; possess excellent analytical, communication, and writing skills; and work well in a fast-paced, team environment. Law degree and a minimum of two years of experience required.
