Job Description


The United States Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, Republican Staff, seeks a Counsel or Professional Staff member to support Committee activity. Responsibilities include: drafting and editing legislative memoranda including for committee and floor proceedings; developing and advancing legislative proposals; coordinating and reviewing oversight materials; support and preparation for all Committee activities; and conducting investigative research and drafting findings.


Qualified candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of relevant Capitol Hill or executive branch experience. Ideal areas within a candidate’s experience will include: experience with relevant Committee process and procedure for markups, hearings, and floor; knowledge of the federal procurement, federal data systems, government efficiency, and relevant issues and agencies within the Committee’s jurisdiction; and oversight and investigation experience. A team player with the ability to think strategically, pay strict attention to detail, and the capability to work collaboratively to complete projects in a timely and efficient manner is a must.
