Job Description

Ground Truth AI - Data Analyst

About Ground Truth AI

At Ground Truth AI, we transform digital noise into strategic clarity. We turn vast online video content into strategic, actionable intelligence for communicators and advertisers.

Our proprietary AI-powered platform ingests, analyzes, and interprets YouTube videos at scale, revealing how narratives spread and evolve across the platform and the internet. The result: actionable insights for smarter strategy, sharper messaging, and precision targeting. Founded by experts in media analytics and strategic communications, we arm brands, agencies, political campaigns, and mission-driven organizations with the intelligence they need to confront negative narratives, identify brand safety risks, and precisely target their messaging. We give our clients the actionable insights required to win the information war.

The Role

We are seeking a motivated, intellectually curious, and self-directed Data Analyst to join our small, remote startup team. Reporting to the Head of Client Strategy, you will act as the crucial bridge between the raw data generated by our ClarifyAI platform and the real-world decisions our clients make every day. You will act as the primary engine for turning raw data from our ClarifyAI platform into polished, actionable strategic guidance for our roster of clients.

This isn't just a number-crunching role. You will be responsible for extracting data, finding the signal in the noise, and translating those findings into clear, prescriptive advice. If you love wrangling messy datasets, have a sharp eye for narrative trends, and know how to build a slide deck that decision-makers can instantly understand, this role is for you.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Data Translation: Pull and analyze complex data from the ClarifyAI platform, identifying key shifts in sentiment, distilling critical stats, and refining narrative themes.
  • Creating Polished Deliverables: Build standardized, high-quality client materials—including slide decks, memos, and clear data visualizations (charts/tables)—that tell a compelling story.
  • Delivering Actionable Advice: Go beyond simply reporting the data by distilling your findings into "so what?" takeaways about the narratives you’ve surfaced. You'll collaborate with the rest of the team to refine these insights into final products and action-ready recommendations for our clients.
  • AI Workflow Management: Leverage generative AI tools to accelerate your research and writing processes, while strictly applying your foundational data skills to audit, fact-check, and validate AI-generated outputs.
  • Project & Product Ownership: Be comfortable with remote work and managing your own pipeline of project deliverables, ensuring products move from raw data to leadership-ready review on deadline.
  • Watching (a lot) of Videos: Working with reams of data about online video content will inevitably lead to reviewing some of this video content. You should be familiar with how social video platforms (esp. YouTube) and creators work, and being comfortable watching a wide variety of content without getting sucked in will be a necessity.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Advanced Spreadsheet Fluency: You are highly proficient in Excel or Google Sheets, Pivot tables, complex formulas, and cleaning/sorting/data filtering are second nature to you.
  • Analytical Rigor: You have a proven ability to dig into real-world, sometimes messy data, spot anomalies, and extract meaningful trends without getting lost in the weeds.
  • Clear Communication: You know how to write concisely and structure information strategically for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Aligned Work Style: You thrive in deadline-driven remote environments, require minimal hand-holding, and are comfortable knowing when to take initiative and when to ask for guidance.
  • Pragmatic AI Usage: You are comfortable integrating AI into your daily workflow but possess the technical chops and critical thinking required to frame tasks appropriately, avoid rabbit holes, and catch “quiet” mistakes.
  • Bonus Points: Experience with SQL, Python, R, or other data analysis tools is a nice-to-have, as is previous experience in communications, public affairs, or media strategy. Be sure to mention if you have past experience with media monitoring tools (e.g. Cision, Meltwater, NewsWhip, TVEyes), social listening platforms, optimizing YouTube content or working with AI-powered analytics.
