Young people are facing shrinking economic opportunity, an affordability crisis, and a loss of community. Emerging technologies like AI are further threatening to accelerate each of these problems. Neither political party is prioritizing these pressing issues affecting our generation, and as a result, our generation is losing faith in the American Dream. We have been promised an American Dream, but for many, it’s not becoming a reality.


The Young People’s Alliance is a moment completely led by and for young people to reclaim the American Dream. We are developing innovative, bipartisan policy solutions that actually work for our generation, building a nationwide grassroots network of young people, and achieving real policy change for our generation in DC and state legislatures.


The Role

We are hiring a DC Campus Coordinator to lead the rollout and manage YPA's our chapter program. Coaches will manage a group of 5 chapters leader who will launch a chapter at their respective institution focused on building youth power. Coaches will strategize and guide chapter leaders in how to best build a grassroots base of young people to mobilize for policy change for our generation, organize events that raising awareness about youth issues, execute policy mobilization events, and more.


Responsibilities:

Each Coach will be responsible for supporting and advising 5 chapters. This includes:

  • Meeting virtually with each chapter leader on a weekly basis
  • Providing support and guidance chapter leaders to set and achieve advocacy goals
  • Developing strategy in best ways to achieve goal
  • Reporting chapter progress
  • Liaising between YPA's management and the chapters to create a shared vision of youth power.


Skills:

The ideal applicant has management/coaching experience, has background knowledge about politics, is responsive over text and independently motivated, is detail-oriented, is a people person, is comfortable finding common ground with people across different ideologies and backgrounds, and believes in the importance of building young people's political power.


Pay: $800/Month

Time Commitment: ~7 hours/week
