Job Description
The Office of the Governor is seeking a highly motivated, digital savvy individual to join the Communications team as a Deputy Press Secretary. This position will coordinate with the Deputy Communications Director in preparing press releases, social media content, and other forms of written communication.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge and understanding of Alaska's public policy issues is strongly desired
- Knowledge of social media platforms and how to strategically use them to communicate the administration's goals and priorities
- Excellent writing and editing skills
- Ability and willingness to work outside of regular office hours, travel as needed, including to Juneau for brief periods during the legislative session.
- Ability to analyze, interpret, prioritize and process complex information
- Ability to shoot and edit photos and videos is desired
Bachelor's degree, preferably in journalism or communications.
And
A minimum of two years' experience in public relations and/or journalism.
Or
At least six years' experience in public relations and/or journalism.
