Ebike Program Coordinator (contract position)

The program coordinator will be hired as a contractor from January to May 2026 to support developing a new ebike maintenance and equipment program. This program will provide maintenance and equipment for low- and moderate-income participants who received an enhanced voucher in the recent Arlington County E-bike Voucher Program. Providing maintenance services and equipment will enhance participants’ success in using an e-bike as a viable, reliable, and safe transportation mechanism. The contract position is funded at $9,000 for 300 hours, and we anticipate it will require 100 hours per month in January and February and 33 hours per month from March through May. This position requires in-person visits to bike shops in Arlington and Alexandria with the ability to complete other tasks remotely.

You will…

  • Communicate with bike shops and setting up contracts to provide maintenance and equipment.
  • Develop and implement an onboarding process for participants to sign up to participate in the program and receive benefits.
  • Produce a communications plan focused on engaging participants via email.
  • Develop a program evaluation plan for program participants and bike shops to gain information on program effectiveness, user insights and opportunities for future enhancements.
  • Develop a plan for a webinar to be organized at the conclusion of the program to disseminate information on the program model and lessons learned to the community.

Program Manager

EcoAction Arlington is seeking a full-time program manager to oversee our outreach and service events, manage our volunteers, and coordinate community programming with other staff. This position includes the following benefits: flexible schedule, the ability to work remotely, 12 paid holidays a year, three weeks paid vacation, and paid sick leave. Vacation and sick leave start accruing on your first day of employment. The salary is $60,000 a year. This position is a hybrid position with significant in person time required. This includes in person time at events, for event prep, and meetings with partners.


You will…

  • Organize and implement outreach events and service projects including overseeing logistics, ordering supplies, and attending events, working with outreach and communications assistant.
  • Organize and coordinate delivery of programs to school and youth groups, working with outreach and communications assistant.
  • Coordinate communications for all program activities in partnership with the communications team.
  • Manage, recruit and coordinate volunteers.
  • Serve as supervisor of the outreach and communications assistant.
  • Collaborate with the EcoAmbassador coordinator and the manager of our Tree Canopy Equity Program to increase synergy and deliver cohesive community programming.
  • Compile program accomplishments for reports to funders and for the communications team.
  • Promote opportunities for service projects to local organizations and corporations.
  • Cultivate relationships with County staff and partners.
  • Engage corporate and community partners in service and sponsorship activities.
  • Coordinate special projects to use pro-bono services and internships as available.

  • A Bachelor’s degree and five years’ work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Relevant volunteer experience may be considered.
  • Experience in planning and executing events.
  • Skills in cultivating relationships with partners and sponsors.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for working with diverse partner organizations, program participants, and volunteers.
  • A thorough understanding of community outreach and DEI principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Solid organizational, planning and time management skills.

This non-exempt position will be paid on an hourly basis at $25 per hour with no benefits. This hybrid job requires time working in person at our S. Arlington location on a weekly basis to process check donations sent via the mail, with more in-person time required during busy fundraising months.

  • Perform data entry for donations, volunteers, and prospects into donor database.
  • Create and organize mailing lists for fundraising campaigns.
  • Manage donor data for accuracy and to eliminate duplicate records as needed.

Tree Ambassadors (part-time)

EcoAction Arlington is managing a team of 6 to 7 Tree Ambassadors throughout the year. As positions on this team open, we will consider new applicants on a rolling basis. Priority will be given to candidates residing in Arlington County in one of the 13 target neighborhoods of the EcoAction Arlington Tree Canopy Equity Program and to candidates who have Spanish-language skills.

Tree ambassadors will work up to 20 hours a month year-round promoting free trees. Training will be provided. These non-exempt positions will be paid on an hourly basis at $26 per hour with no benefits.

The Tree Ambassadors will support the Outreach Manager at EcoAction Arlington. This role requires a dedicated and passionate candidate who enjoys working at the grassroots level to engage diverse groups. This role is critical in advancing our mission to increase tree canopy coverage in Arlington, with a particular focus on engaging communities with low canopy coverage.
