Job Description
Company Description The Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) in North Miami connects local and international audiences with leading contemporary art and ideas. For more than 30 years, MOCA has been a cultural anchor for the North Miami community, presenting bold exhibitions that encourage dialogue across generations. Re-established in 1996, the museum expanded into a 23,000-square-foot facility and began building a collection at a time when few Miami-Dade institutions were collecting contemporary art. Today, MOCA champions emerging and local talent through exhibitions, educational programs, and public events that highlight diverse voices and center their stories. Team members join an institution committed to innovation, community engagement, and inclusive cultural experiences.
Role Description The Development Associate is a full-time, on-site role based at MOCA in North Miami, FL. This position supports the museum’s fundraising efforts by assisting with donor cultivation, stewardship, and prospect research, as well as preparing proposals, reports, and acknowledgments. Daily responsibilities include maintaining accurate donor records, managing gift entry and tracking, and coordinating development-related communications and mailings. The role also helps organize fundraising events and membership drives, collaborates with colleagues across departments to gather information for grants and sponsorships, and provides administrative support to the development team. The Development Associate contributes to meeting annual fundraising goals and strengthening relationships with individual donors, foundations, corporate partners, and community stakeholders.
