Job Title: Development Associate

Location: 1405 Shady Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15217

Schedule: Monday through Friday, Full Time, Onsite

Responsibilities The Development Associate provides essential administrative, operational, and data management support to advance the organization’s fundraising goals. This position plays a key role in ensuring timely and accurate gift processing, donor acknowledgements, development reporting, and strong internal coordination across the development team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, systems savvy, and committed to delivering an excellent donor experience.

Gift Processing & Donor Acknowledgements
  • Manage all gift entries, receipting, acknowledgment, and reconciliation processes with Finance, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and donor-centered service.
  • Ensure compliance with IRS, CASE, AFP, and organizational standards for gift acceptance, processing, and recordkeeping.
Reporting & Data Management
  • Produce accurate, timely routine and ad-hoc reports on fundraising performance, donor retention, and pipeline activity for Advancement leadership.
  • Design and maintain dashboards and data visualizations to track progress against fundraising goals.
Administrative & Team Support
  • Provide general administrative support to the development team, including scheduling meetings, preparing materials, and maintaining shared files.
  • Assist with preparation for donor meetings, events, briefings, and presentations.
  • Coordinate vendor and consultant interactions as needed (mail houses, printers, database support, etc.).
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

1–3 years of administrative, development, or nonprofit experience preferred.

Familiarity with donor database systems (e.g., Clearview, Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce, DonorPerfect) a strong plus.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfort with data-heavy tasks.

Clearances Required: Act 73 FBI, Act 34 Criminal Clearance, and Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance
