Organizational Overview: San Antonio Pets Alive! (SAPA!) It is a private nonprofit.

organization that saves the lives of dogs and cats that find themselves at San Antonio Animal Care Services by no fault of their own. Since 2011, SAPA! has saved the lives of more than 70,000+ dogs and cats by finding them loving adoptive families, placing them in foster homes,s and transporting them to other communities across the country. In addition, SAPA! provides necessary medical services to ensure each pet is healthy and happy.

 

Position Responsibilities: This position provides administrative and operational support to the Development Department by assisting with donor database management, fundraising activities, donor stewardship, and department coordination. The role supports donor cultivation and acknowledgment efforts, corporate and employee giving programs, and special events under the direction of the Director of Development. Experience supporting individual donor stewardship is required.

 

Primary Roles and Responsibilities include:

 

·       Maintain and support the agency’s donor databases, including entering gifts, processing acknowledgments, performing data entry, ensuring accuracy of donor records, generating reports, managing dashboards, and monitoring daily donor activity.

·       Ensure timely and appropriate donor recognition by preparing and processing acknowledgments for all gifts in coordination with the Development team.

·       Serve as the primary administrator for the general donate@sanantoniopetsalive.org email inbox, routing inquiries and responding as appropriate.

·       Support Snuggle Session logistics by assisting with event bookings, coordinating pet availability, and supporting event-day setup as directed.

·       Support Kennel Sponsorship Program, including assisting with bookings, communicating with donors regarding kennel details, coordinating signage production with print vendors, and supporting recordkeeping and acknowledgments.

·       Assist with Development-led fundraising annual events (Paws in the Park, Putts for Paws, Paws for Celebration) by supporting event setup and logistics, monitoring event-related inquiries received through the donate@sanantoniopetsalive.org inbox, and serving as backup support as directed.

·       Assist with Direct Mail campaigns and communication with other fundraising initiatives.

·       Assist in the development of goals and strategies for all fundraising initiatives, including The Big Give, Giving Tuesday, End of Year Giving, e-solicitations, direct mailers, and third-party events.

·       Perform additional administrative and departmental support tasks as assigned.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

 

•          At least 2 years of relevant work experience in corporations, foundations, or cause roles at a nonprofit corporation.

•          A combination of education and directly related work experience may be considered instead of a degree.

•          Experience with various types of fundraising campaigns, including foundations, corporations, major donors, cause marketing, and/or direct mail.

•          Conveys optimism and demonstrates resilience.

•          Demonstrated ability to maintain a highly flexible nature, sophisticated, and professional demeanor, and the ability to react effectively to unanticipated events.

•          Organized yet flexible. Recovers quickly from setbacks and overcomes obstacles.

•          Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite

•          Proficiency with CRM Management software (Bloomerang and/ or similar donor/prospect database systems a plus).

•          Must be results-oriented, work independently, and be proactive.

•          Exceptional grammar and both oral and written communication abilities are essential.

 

Physical Demands and Job Requirements

·       Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and reach.

·       Must be able to lift 30 pounds.

·       Work performed requires lifting, bending, stooping, twisting, and pushing.

·       Valid Driver’s License and dependable vehicle required to travel to other facilities.

·       Work is often done in a time-sensitive and demanding environment.

·       Evening, weekend, and holiday work may be required.

The Development Coordinator will be privy to confidential information and must ensure that information is dealt with the strictest confidence and discretion.

 

Compensation

·      Salary Range: $17-19 Hourly DOE

·       Full-time, 40-hours per week minimum
