If you have experience with nonprofit fundraising (especially event coordination), this part-time position offers flexibility to an individual who wants to work with a small nonprofit. The ideal candidate will utilize their experience with project management, community collaboration, and event coordination to support the success of our organization's primary fundraising activities.
Note: This is a part-time, hourly position. Expected workload of about 10 hours per week or 40 hours per month. The ideal candidate will work primarily from home/remote with some in-person meetings and events in the Ashland/Richmond, Virginia area throughout the year. Expected pay: $20-25/hour (part-time).
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with Director of Development and Board on overall fundraising strategy.
- Support overall development strategy by identifying and procuring annual and event sponsorships from community partners.
- Act as primary project manager for any annual fundraising events for the organization.
- Coordinate volunteer committees for each event; manage meetings and delegate tasks to volunteers as appropriate.
- Coordinate marketing and communication materials for related events, including emails, social media, website updates, and print materials (when applicable). Delegate relevant tasks to staff or volunteers as appropriate.
- Report progress and status updates on events to staff and board
- Attend events and/or coordinate staff and volunteers for all fundraising activities.
- Serve as primary liaison between collaborating partners and vendors (i.e., managers of fundraising event locations).
- Review events once complete and prepare reports for board and staff with recommendations for the future.
- Assist with smaller fundraising activities or community events throughout the year (as needed).
- Coordinate with the Director of Development to track volunteers, donors, and other key information related to event participation.
- Support Director of Development with any ad hoc tasks.
- Develop process for assessing and approving future fundraising events.
- Meet at least twice monthly with the Director of Development.
- Attend bimonthly board meetings (6x/year).
- Must be available to work some evenings and weekends.
