Salary Range: $110,000 - $130,000


The Financial Technology Association (FTA) is a trade association representing leading financial technology (fintech) companies. Our members are innovative global brands shaping the future of finance and offering digital products and services for consumers, small businesses, and startups. Our mission is to advocate for modernized financial policies and regulations that reflect the digital transformation.


We are seeking a Digital Director to lead the strategy, execution, and growth of FTA’s digital audience and platforms in collaboration with the Head of Communications. This role is ideal for a creative, organized, policy-savvy communicator who can translate complex regulatory and industry issues into engaging digital content. You will play a key role in shaping the narrative around fintech innovation, growing FTA’s audience, and advancing the association’s profile and thought leadership with key stakeholders.


RESPONSIBILITIES


Digital Strategy & Content Creation

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive digital communications strategy to promote FTA and our members, advance the fintech brand, and advocate for key policy priorities.
  • Create and manage content for the association’s website, social media channels (LinkedIn, X, YouTube, Instagram), newsletters, and email campaigns.
  • Translate policy developments, research reports, and industry trends into accessible, compelling digital content (e.g., infographics, explainers, videos, blogs).
  • Oversee and evolve the organization’s content calendar and editorial workflow.


Social Media Management

  • Lead day-to-day management of FTA’s social media accounts, including content development, community engagement, and performance tracking.
  • Monitor online conversations and industry trends to inform content strategy and engagement opportunities.
  • Build digital campaigns that amplify advocacy efforts, thought leadership, and member initiatives.


Website & Analytics

  • Oversee website content updates and enhancements; coordinate with web developers and designers as needed.
  • Use analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, social media insights) to measure digital performance, generate reports, and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Optimize digital content for SEO and user engagement.


Brand & Messaging

  • Ensure consistency of voice, tone, and visual identity across all digital channels.
  • Support crisis communications and rapid-response messaging when needed.
  • Maintain and evolve digital brand guidelines in collaboration with leadership.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Political Science, Finance, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in digital communications, preferably in a PR agency, on Capitol Hill, a presidential Administration, or a political campaign.
  • Strong writing skills and ability to translate complex policy or technical topics into accessible language and engaging content.
  • Builder mentality and excitement about joining a growing communications team and trade association.
  • Ability to manage projects from start to finish, communicate clearly, and engage professionally and effectively with FTA member company leaders.
  • Familiarity with tools such as email marketing systems (e.g., Mailchimp), Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, social media management tools, and Google Analytics is a plus.
  • Strong visual and multimedia instincts (video, graphics, social visuals) are also a plus.
