Job Description
Congressman George Latimer (NY-16) seeks a Digital Director/Press Assistant for the DC Office.
This position will be responsible for shaping how the Congressman’s work reaches the district and the nation. Applicants must be enthusiastic about communicating the Congressman’s priorities and crafting compelling and creative ways to reach constituents.
This position is based in Washington, DC. The role reports to the Chief of Staff and works closely with the Member and Legislative Staff. District/New York ties are a plus.
Key responsibilities include:
- Crafting timely, digestible social media content.
- Producing high-quality graphics and videos.
- Draft and edit floor speeches, press releases, advisories, franked communications, and other communications materials as assigned
- Working with the Chief of Staff to execute a communications strategy and rapid response.
The successful candidate will have:
- Strong writing, editing, and strategic messaging skills.
- Media relations success and ability to assist with communications in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with commonly used graphic design platforms (Ex: Photoshop or Canva).
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with a commitment to public service and constituent engagement.
- Congressional office or relevant federal, state, or local campaign experience is preferred.

Salary will be a minimum $70,000 per year, commensurate with experience. This is a full-time position. The office offers benefits including competitive options for health, dental, vision, and life insurance; retirement match; and student loan repayment.
