The Office of Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland (WA-10) seeks a creative Digital Manager to help develop, implement, and maintain the Office’s digital media strategy, visual brand, and be the leader of the Congresswoman’s voice online. The ideal candidate is nimble and can manage rapid digital response, has a passion for visual communications, strong writing skills, excels in a fast-paced environment, and experience using digital content to communicate messages with clarity. Previous experience with graphics creation and video editing software is a plus. This is not an entry-level position and requires working nights and weekends.

Tasks will include, and are not limited to:

  • Planning, drafting, editing, scheduling, and executing all social media copy, graphics, and video content for the Congresswoman and her office.
  • Overseeing video shoots, basic event photography, photo editing, graphic creation, clipping TV interviews and floor/committee remarks, and maintaining archives of the office’s visual media.
  • Drafting scripts, talking points, and speeches for videos. To include: videos recorded in the House Recording Studio, direct -to-camera style videos for social media, b-roll, and more.
  • Oversee production of daily press clips (supported by Communications/Press Intern), and some large and highly-designed graphic projects (example: End of Year Report).
  • Manage and maintain the Office’s official website and technology needs.
  • Assist with media advisories, press releases, blog posts, and other non-digital written content in coordination with the Communications Director.
  • Hire, train, and manage the Communications/Press Intern, alongside the Office’s Intern Coordinator.
  • Working with the District Office and Outreach team to support Communications tasks
  • Other communications and office-related tasks as needed.

Candidates with prior digital experience on Capitol Hill, Washington State ties, and ties to Washington’s 10th Congressional District are encouraged to apply. The starting salary for the position is $65,000 per year.

The Digital Manager will report to the Communications Director.
