The Office of Congressman George Whitesides (CA-27) seeks a Digital Manager to be based in either his Washington, D.C. or district office in Southern California. The position reports directly to the Communications Director and is responsible for assisting in all aspects of the press shop’s day-to-day operations. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage the Congressman’s social media accounts, creating a proactive digital plan to highlight his district, legislative, and constituent service work, including strategies for growth across platforms.
  • Take a leading role in the office’s franked communications program, managing the creative development process and working with the office’s Financial Administrator on backend disclosures.
  • Collaborate closely with the Communications Director to craft cohesive and engaging messaging across platforms for a frontline district.
  • Edit and maintain the Member’s website to include relevant updates, press releases, news, photos, and more.
  • Draft and edit press releases, media advisories, statements, and daily press clips.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • 1-3 years of experience working in political or digital communications.
  • Familiarity with various digital platforms, maintaining websites, and managing social media accounts for a political candidate, elected official, or organization. 
  • Proficient in graphic design and video editing. 
  • Self-starter who is able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Some experience with franked communications preferred but not required.
  • California ties are a plus.

Salary and benefits:

This is not an entry level position. The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $70,000 annually. Title and compensation are negotiable based on experience.
