Overview

The Freedom Foundation is seeking a Digital Marketing Director to lead all performance-driven outreach efforts. This role owns strategy and execution across programmatic advertising, digital acquisition, paid search, geo-targeted campaigns, and high-conversion funnels. The objective: reach public employees efficiently and drive measurable opt-outs at scale.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the digital outreach strategy across programmatic ads, banner campaigns, geo-fencing, email outreach, paid search, and micro-sites.
  • Manage high-volume programmatic campaigns (DSPs, retargeting, behavioral and geographic targeting).
  • Oversee Google Ads: search, display, YouTube, etc
  • Work with our e-mail manager and outreach directors to direct large-scale email campaigns with segmentation, A/B testing, and deliverability oversight.
  • Build and optimize micro-sites and landing pages focused on conversion.
  • Incorporate AI-driven search and generative platforms into outreach strategy.
  • Develop dashboards and reporting infrastructure that track and communicate results across funnel stages and optimize campaigns based on real-time insights.
  • Lead and grow a multidisciplinary team of internal digital marketers and agency partners. Responsible for hiring, mentoring, and performance management to ensure alignment with outreach KPIs.
  • Ensure compliance with data security, state-specific requirements, and platform policies.
  • Own and forecast digital marketing budgets, allocating resources across channels based on performance benchmarks and strategic objectives.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years in digital marketing, performance marketing, or digital advocacy.
  • Proven experience with programmatic ads, geo-fencing, Google Ads, and paid media optimization.
  • Strong command of email marketing platforms and automation tools.
  • Hands-on experience building and improving conversion-focused micro-sites.
  • Proficiency with analytics tools (GA4, Tag Manager, Looker/Data Studio).
  • Familiarity with AI and generative search optimization.
  • Strong project management skills and demonstrated results in high-velocity outreach environments.
  • Personal alignment with the mission of the Freedom Foundation.

  • Cost-per-opt-out decreases quarter over quarter through rigorous testing and optimization.
  • Scaled, efficient outreach across multiple digital channels.
  • Funnel experiences are continuously improved, delivering reliable and repeatable conversion outcomes.
  • The digital program is benchmarked as best-in-class among advocacy organizations - measurable, agile, and consistently innovating.

Salary $130,000-$140,000 - commensurate with experience.


The Freedom Foundation offers competitive pay and benefits. Compensation is determined by a candidate’s overall experience and qualifications. This position has the potential to earn bonuses. The Freedom Foundation offers Health Insurance and a 403(b) Retirement Program (which the Foundation partially matches) and provides a flexible personal time of (PTO/Vacation) policy, allowing full-time employees to take leave as needed when approved by management, and 12 paid holidays.
