The Office of Senator Mazie K. Hirono seeks a Digital & Press Assistant to join its communications team based in Washington, D.C. This role supports and amplifies the Senator's media presence across Hawaii and Washington, with a focus on reaching broader audiences through traditional and digital channels. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: compiling daily press clips and monitoring traditional and digital media outlets; editing short- and long-form video content optimized for online platforms; drafting quotes, talking points, and other written materials; maintaining and updating the Senator’s website and archiving video, audio, and transcript files; and managing traditional and digital media lists.


The ideal candidate is a self-starting team player with strong writing skills, a creative eye, and a good sense of humor. They should have hands-on experience with graphics and video production and a solid grasp of social media trends, platform analytics, and what makes content perform. The ability to produce polished, error-free work under tight deadlines is a must.
