JOB TITLE: DIGITAL PRODUCER & EDITOR


STATUS: FULL TIME

SUMMARY


Congressman Jimmy Gomez, a California member of the House Ways and Means Committee, House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Committee, and founder of the Congressional Dads Caucus and Renters Caucus seeks an organized, detail-oriented, entrepreneurial individual to serve in the position of Digital Producer & Editor in a fast-paced and highly collaborative bi-coastal office.


Digital Producer & Editor Position Overview:


The Digital Producer & Editor will serve as the primary videographer responsible for creating rapid-response and long-form video content to support the office’s messaging and engagement strategy. This staffer will accompany the principal to all public events and collaborate closely with the Communications Director to plan, devise, and produce compelling, high-quality video content tailored for digital platforms.


Key Responsibilities:


Videography & Content Creation:


• Film and produce rapid-response videos and long-form video content to amplify the campaign’s message.


• Capture video footage at all public events, ensuring quick turnaround for timely content delivery.


• Create proprietary, creative, and engaging video content that reflects the congressman’s vision and priorities.


Collaboration:


• Work closely with the Communications Director to align video content with the office’s overall communications goals.


• Partner with the broader communications teams to integrate video across all social media channels, email, website, and other platforms.


Content Strategy:


• Identify opportunities for compelling storytelling and dynamic video content to maximize audience engagement.


• Maintain an organized library of footage for ongoing use across digital platforms.


Technical Execution:


• Operate, maintain, and transport video equipment as required.


• Ensure professional post-production, including editing, sound mixing, and adding graphics when necessary, to deliver polished final products.


• Optimize video content for various digital platforms, ensuring compatibility, quality, and accessibility.


Qualifications:


• Proven experience in videography, video production, and editing, preferably within a political, campaign, or fast-paced media environment.


• Proficiency with professional video production tools and editing software (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud).


• Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines and produce high-quality, quick-turnaround content.


• Exceptional organizational and time management skills.


• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and travel frequently to accompany the principal.


• Strong creative instincts and storytelling abilities.


Preferred Skills:


• Experience working on political campaigns or in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.


• Familiarity with social media analytics to help guide content strategy.


• Understanding of the political landscape and ability to tailor content to a diverse audience.


Position Type: Full-time, in-person with travel required.

SALARY AND BENEFITS


The salary range for this position is $65,000-$75,000. The Office offers excellent benefits, including employer paid health, dental and vision insurance for employees and their family, Student Loan Repayment Benefits, and employer contributions to retirement savings plan.
