About the Position:
This Excepted Service position is a TERM, not to exceed 3 years. It is a HARD TO FILL position, LQA is authorized for selectees who also meet basic requirements of the DSSR 031.12b, and DoDi 1400.25M, Sub 1250.
The George C. Marshall European Center is an academic institution located in Garmisch, Germany. There is no DoDDs high school in the area. Family members in grades 9-12 may apply for admission to Munich International School. Acceptance is not guaranteed.

Responsibilities
Develop and implement Center activities that are consistent with U.S. law and DoD policy guidance as issued by the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy( USD(P)) in coordination with the Geographic Combatant Commanders (GCCs).
Ensure Center activities support the National Security Strategy, the National Defense Strategy, and Guidance for Employment of the Force; and are conducted in accordance with the laws and policies governing U.S. interaction with foreign countries.
Provide an annual program plan, in consultation with the GCCs, regional and functional OSD Policy offices, and the Ministry of Defense of the Federal Republic of Germany, to the USD(P) for approval.
Establish internal policy and formulates short and long-range goals and objectives that support relevant policy guidance and complement significant security cooperation initiatives.
Oversea all budget and programming activities for the Center.
Prepare and deliver lectures and seminars on subjects associated with the Center's curricula.
