Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Director of Advocacy to lead our organization’s efforts in championing the rights and needs of individuals with developmental disabilities. Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive advocacy strategies aligned with organizational goals to influence public policy, community awareness, and resource allocation.
- Lead program development efforts focused on advancing the rights and well-being of individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, community organizations, stakeholders, and families to foster collaboration and support.
- Supervise and manage advocacy staff, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations to ensure team success.
- Oversee administrative functions related to advocacy programs, including budgeting, reporting, and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Coordinate public awareness campaigns, educational initiatives, and community engagement activities to promote inclusion and understanding.
- Monitor legislative developments affecting the disability community and advocate for policies that enhance access to services and opportunities.
Requirements
- Proven management experience leading advocacy or program development teams within social services or related fields.
- Demonstrated ability to develop impactful programs that serve individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs.
- Strong relationship management skills with experience working collaboratively with government entities, community partners, and families.
- Excellent administrative skills including budgeting, reporting, and organizational planning.
- Supervisory experience overseeing staff in a fast-paced environment while fostering a positive team culture.
- Background in social work or behavioral health is highly desirable to understand the complex needs of the populations served.
- Knowledge of policies affecting individuals with developmental disabilities along with experience in program management is essential. Join us in making a difference! Pay: $57,113.79 - $68,782.20 per year
