Role Description

St. Mary’s Center for Women and Children seeks a mission-driven and strategic fundraising professional to lead and grow a robust portfolio of corporate and foundation partners. As the Director of Corporations and Foundations, you will play a pivotal role in advancing the Center’s mission by strengthening existing relationships and building new partnerships that align with our values and vision for impact.

This is a unique opportunity to shape and execute a long-term strategy for institutional giving, directly supporting St. Mary’s Center’s $2–$3 million annual private revenue goals. Reporting to the President and working closely with executive leadership, you will oversee and deepen engagement with corporate and foundation supporters while identifying and cultivating prospective funders.

In addition to front-line fundraising and strategic development work, the Director supervises a dedicated grant writer and ensures high-quality, timely submissions of all proposals and reports. You will lead efforts to maintain and grow a healthy pipeline of institutional funders, oversee allocation of grant-related work, and guide the research and planning necessary to secure transformational gifts.

Qualifications

Strategy

·     Build on Strategic Plan 2020 by refining and executing an annual and long-term plan for fundraising for St. Mary’s Center including but not limited to- identification of growth areas, measures of success, return on investment, and outcomes/metrics as it pertains to corporate and foundation giving.

·     Collaboratively work with Executive Leadership and Program Leadership to establish annual revenue goals and assess and monitor annual fundraising plan and revenue by source monthly.

·     Generate and analyze CRM (Raiser's Edge) reports to drive strategic decisions.

·     Serve as a thought-partner and strategist with the President in shaping growth and external positioning for St. Mary’s Center as a thought-leader in the field.

·     Develop a culture of philanthropy to increase Leadership’s knowledge and understanding of fundraising and business development best practices.

·     Work with the Finance Department to craft and oversee annual Development budget in partnership with the Director of Individual & Major Gifts.

·     Attend Board of Trustee Advancement Committee meetings and actively support committee efforts.

·     Strategize with the President and Capital Campaign Officer on specific Corporate and Foundation cultivation as it pertains to general operations and the capital campaign.

·     Participate in external events to support the St. Mary’s Center mission.

Fundraising

·     Manage a multi-year pipeline of corporate and foundation funders supporting a goal of $2- $3M+ in private revenue annually.

·     Serve as the primary portfolio manager for St. Mary’s Center’s current corporate and foundation funders.

·     Develop and execute cultivation strategies to increase investment and engagement of current corporate and foundation funders and develop a pipeline of new corporate and foundation donors with the goal of securing strategic, multi-year investments.

·     Coordinate on-going, tailored corporate and foundation engagement and stewardship activities including a formalized Corporate Partnerships Program.

·     Facilitate the President and Board members' ability to regularly meet with current and prospective corporate and foundation partners, including preparing briefing materials.

·     Produce pitch decks, meeting briefings, end-of-year reports, and recognition opportunities for current supporters.

·     Secure sponsorship for two annual fundraising events working in partnership with Director of Individual & Major Donors, raising $500,000+ in revenue.

Relationship Management

·     Build and nurture relationships with funders, board members, community leaders, and internal stakeholders to elevate the visibility of St. Mary’s Center.

·     Demonstrate exceptional communication, interpersonal, and stewardship skills to foster long-term partnerships with corporations and foundations.

·     Represent the organization with professionalism and purpose at external meetings, events, and funder engagements.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

·     Supervise and support the grant writer by allocating work, managing deadlines, and ensuring the highest quality proposals and reports.

·     Partner cross-functionally with development, finance, program, and executive teams to align fundraising efforts with organizational priorities.

·     Encourage shared ownership of fundraising success and fosters a collaborative team culture grounded in mission alignment and accountability.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

In addition, string candidates will offer:

·     Bachelor’s degree required in related field; Master’s preferred.

·     Minimum of 5 years relevant non-profit fundraising experience.

·     Proven record of accomplishment raising major gifts in $25,000 - $100,000 range, securing multi-year commitments, and developing relationships with individuals and foundations.

·     Experience in of all aspects of a complex and multi-faceted development organization.

·     Experience with Raiser’s Edge Donor Management System highly desirable.

·     A confident, poised professional with highly developed interpersonal and communication skills and an affinity for networking.

·     Exceptional time management, project management and organizational skills.

·     Proven record of team building, with management and mentorship skills.

·     An eagerness to learn, grow, and stay current about trends in philanthropy.

·     Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and effectively.

·     Demonstrated ability to write and edit persuasively.

·     Experience with website and social media preferred.
