By building and preserving affordable housing through new construction, renovations, and home repairs, Habitat LA is transforming communities throughout Los Angeles County. Through access to affordable loans, housing counseling, down-payment assistance, skilled construction training, financial education, and volunteer opportunities the organization has strengthened families, helped stabilize communities, and fostered economic vitality in the region. On average, the affiliate builds and renovates 100 homes in the Los Angeles region each year, ranking it among the largest affiliates nationwide.
GENERAL DESCRIPTIONHabitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (Habitat LA) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Development, Corporate to lead corporate fundraising and partnership strategies. This role is responsible for securing significant financial support, cultivating and stewarding relationships with corporate donors, and driving revenue growth to advance Habitat LA’s mission. The Director will manage a team of three fundraisers working toward a minimum $3 million annual team goal, including a personal portfolio goal of at least $1.2m. The Director will represent Habitat LA professionally, building strong partnerships that engage corporations through giving, sponsorships, special events, and volunteerism.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - Fundraising Strategy and Revenue Generation:
- Develop and implement corporate fundraising strategies to achieve annual revenue goals, including growing the donor base and securing unrestricted and multi-year general operating support. Manage a personal portfolio of corporate donors, prepare high-quality proposals and reports, ensure compliance with donor requirements, and analyze fundraising data to guide decision-making.
- Donor Cultivation and Stewardship:
- Build, manage, and grow relationships with a minimum of 150 corporate donors and prospects. Create tailored stewardship plans, collaborate with partners to design mutually beneficial engagements, and represent Habitat LA at external events and networking opportunities to enhance visibility and donor retention.
- Team Leadership and Management
- Supervise and mentor a team of three fundraisers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture. Set clear goals, conduct regular evaluations, provide feedback, and ensure alignment with organizational priorities while encouraging professional growth and accountability.
- Operational Excellence and Collaboration:
- Work cross-functionally with Finance, Marketing, Programs, Volunteer Services, and HFHI to maximize corporate engagement and donor impact. Maintain accurate donor records, oversee compliance with corporate gift and sponsorship requirements, and contribute to organization-wide strategies that strengthen sustainability and efficiency.
SUMMARY OF JOB QUALIFICATIONS - Must be able to successfully pass a drug test, background check, credit check, and a driving record check
- Must have access to reliable transportation to perform job duties, a valid CA Driver’s License, and meet the state-required amount of personal automobile liability insurance.
- Must have a reliable internet connection
- Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum 7–10 years of progressive fundraising or corporate relations experience, with a strong track record in securing significant corporate gifts and sponsorships.
- Proven experience managing and mentoring a fundraising team to achieve or exceed revenue goals.
- Strong ability to craft compelling proposals, presentations, and stewardship materials.
- Proven track record in cultivating, stewarding, and expanding donor relationships, especially with high-value corporate partners.
- Ability to lead, mentor, and inspire a team to meet or exceed collective and individual fundraising goals.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across diverse stakeholders, including donors, corporate executives, volunteers, and internal teams.
- Ability to analyze data and fundraising metrics to guide decision-making and report outcomes effectively.

COMPENSATIONPay Range: $80,000 - $105,000
Salary offers are based on several factors, including job-related knowledge, experience, and qualifications. They range from entry to mid-level.
