UP for Women and Children opened its doors in 2018 to address the unique needs of homeless women and children by providing a safe daytime space with access to critical resources. Located in Louisville, KY, the nonprofit offers showers, laundry, case management, and connection to vital support services. With a mission to foster self-sufficiency and a vision of empowerment, UP works in partnership with service providers to create a supportive and trauma-informed environment. The organization ensures access to essential services such as job and housing referrals, vital record assistance, and basic necessities for women and their dependent children experiencing homelessness.
Role Description
The Director of Development will lead and execute development initiatives to support the organization's mission. This full-time, on-site role based in Louisville, KY entails tasks such as planning and managing fundraising strategies, including annual and planned giving campaigns, cultivating donor relationships, creating and overseeing budgets, and promoting philanthropy. The director will collaborate with staff and community partners to ensure sustainable funding and impactful donor engagement.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Annual Giving strategies and event planning
- Demonstrated experience in Fundraising and Philanthropy
- Strong skills in Budgeting and financial planning for development activities
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with donors and stakeholders
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with nonprofit fundraising software and CRM platforms
- Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
- Knowledge of and commitment to addressing homelessness and trauma-informed care
Salary Range: $70,000 - $78,000
The position is hybrid (1-2 days per week work from home).
