Our work spans film, television, podcasts, and digital media, all in service of driving meaningful societal change. We partner with leading nonprofits to build campaigns that resonate, inspire, and generate lasting impact.
Role Overview:
The Director of Development will serve as the primary fundraising leader for Multihouse's non-profit clients, owning the full lifecycle of donor development: from prospecting and cultivation to solicitation and stewardship. This role is responsible for designing and executing fundraising strategies, managing capital campaigns, and building the donor pipelines that fuel our clients' missions. The ideal candidate is a seasoned nonprofit fundraising professional who thrives on building relationships, closing gifts, and delivering measurable results for the organizations they serve.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies for Multihouse's non-profit clients, including major gifts, annual fund campaigns, corporate giving, and planned giving initiatives.
- Design and manage capital and endowment campaigns from inception through completion, ensuring goals are met on time and on budget.
- Build and maintain robust donor pipelines using CRM tools, with consistent outreach, cultivation, and follow-up on behalf of clients.
- Identify, qualify, and solicit major gift prospects, stewarding donors through all stages of the giving cycle.
- Develop and manage relationships with individual donors, foundations, and corporate philanthropic partners, ensuring alignment with each client's mission and values.
- Oversee grant research, writing, and reporting in coordination with client teams.
- Plan and execute donor cultivation events, fundraising galas, and stewardship activities that deepen donor engagement.
- Provide strategic counsel to non-profit clients on fundraising best practices, donor communications, and development infrastructure.
- Represent Multihouse and its clients at industry events, nonprofit conferences, and community functions to expand donor networks and organizational visibility.
- Collaborate with internal creative and media teams to develop compelling fundraising collateral, impact reports, and donor-facing storytelling assets.
- Track and report on fundraising performance metrics, providing clients with regular progress updates and strategic recommendations.
- Lead business development initiatives, targeting sponsors for major Multihouse projects across film, television, podcasts, and digital media.
- Cultivate and secure new partnerships with both for-profit and non-profit organizations, focusing on cross-industry collaborations and impactful projects.
Qualities & Experience:
- At least 6 years of progressive experience in non-profit fundraising, with a demonstrated track record of securing major gifts and managing successful campaigns.
- Proven success in donor cultivation and solicitation, including experience closing five- and six-figure gifts.
- Deep knowledge of the full fundraising cycle, from prospect research and moves management to stewardship and planned giving.
- Strong understanding of nonprofit financial tracking and fundraising reconciliation, with experience collaborating closely with finance teams to ensure gift records, pledge payments, and campaign revenues are accurately reported and reconciled on an ongoing basis.
- Experience managing capital campaigns, annual funds, and/or endowment initiatives.
- Familiarity with Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) and their role in philanthropic giving strategies.
- Must be willing to obtain or currently hold a CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive) credential.
- Proficiency with fundraising CRM and donor management platforms required (Classy/GoFundMe Pro, RaiseDonors, CyberGrants, Virtuous, or equivalent).
- Excellent relationship-building, communication, and presentation skills — comfortable engaging with high-net-worth individuals, foundation officers, and corporate partners.
- A self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple client portfolios simultaneously.
- Experience with task management tools (Monday.com) and design platforms (Canva) preferred.
- Passion for social impact and a genuine commitment to the non-profit sector.
