General Summary:

This leadership position is responsible for driving and growing the fundraising efforts of workplace giving campaigns across Oahu in support of Aloha United Way’s mission. Overseeing a team of four, this role provides strategic direction, coaching, and support to ensure the success of our annual campaigns. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of data and systems to ensure campaign activities are accurately tracked and managed in our CRM. They will lead the team by developing business managers who can effectively engage campaign coordinators, volunteers, advocates, and donors in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

In addition to overseeing workplace giving, this role plays a key part in shaping the strategy for Aloha United Way’s annual individual giving campaigns. They serve as a strong support to the Vice President of Resource Development and Donor Relations, contributing to overall revenue growth through strategic insight, collaboration, and leadership. A history of successful fundraising and robust network within Oahu’s business and professional community is essential to building and sustaining the relationships that power our mission.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leads the Workplace Campaign Team and manages key relationships with workplace account constituents, supporting strategy and execution under the direction of the Vice President of Resource Development & Donor Relations. This includes overseeing staff performance and fostering a collaborative, goal-oriented culture, while also personally growing corporate donations, sponsorships and grant opportunities. Builds and maintains strategic relationships with corporate and community leaders, including high-priority, at-risk, and out-of-area accounts, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and fundraising best practices. (50% of time)
  • Drives technology and operational alignment to support campaign effectiveness. Leads the transition of campaigns from paper to the organizations digital giving platform and customer relationship management system, ensuring data integrity, consistent usage, and current standard operating procedures. Collaborates with department heads to promote cross-functional coordination and overall operational efficiency. (25% of time)
  • Partners with the Vice President to define key metrics, accountability structures, and strategic plans that drive revenue growth and campaign success. Leads efforts to increase giving by developing and executing strategies to expand market presence, recruit new business, and strengthen engagement with existing accounts. Manages the Combined Federal Campaign and supports AUW’s individual direct giving campaigns. Identifies barriers to giving and donor retention challenges and uses campaign projections to guide planning and optimize performance. (25% of time)
  • Participates in Aloha United Way events such as campaign rallies, community celebrations, and teambuilding activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

Skills/Knowledge

  • Proven experience in professional fundraising and personal relationship building, socializing professionally in both intimate settings and at larger social events.
  • Strong foundation in identifying effective KPIs and fundraising metrics.
  • Ability to use data to help guide campaign strategy
  • Familiarity with CRM and donor databases
  • Knowledge of IRS guidelines, donor privacy and ethical fundraising standards
  • Demonstrates extraordinary listening, communication, and presentation skills virtually and in person.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with discretion, honor confidentiality, and remain calm, consistent, and fair under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with diverse constituents and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Proficient in the latest Microsoft Office Environment (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Ability to complete basic math as well as review and interpret reports and graphs.
  • Understanding of and commitment to the mission, vision, and goals of United Way.

Education/Experience

An undergraduate degree is required, preferably in Business, Marketing, or Communication. Master’s degree preferred.

10 years’ experience in fundraising, sales, marketing, and/or public relations/customer services. CFRE certification preferred.

5-plus years of experience in fundraising and resource development in a non-profit environment.

5-plus years of experience in a supervisory role.

Required Qualifications

Must be authorized to work in the United States
Must have a car to drive for the job and have drivers’ insurance. (Only for Resource Development positions). Staff members who drive a vehicle on Aloha United Way business must provide proof of a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record from the last 7 years, and current automobile insurance.
Must be able to pass a background and drug test
Must be located in Hawaii or have pre-existing plans to be in Hawaii

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
