Chabad on Campus International supports and strengthens over 360 Chabad Houses serving 890+ campuses worldwide, advancing vibrant Jewish life and learning for college students. In partnership with campus Shluchim, COCI works to ensure every Jewish student can deepen their connection to Jewish identity, learning, and community. Based in Brooklyn, NY, COCI has a team of 40+ professionals and an annual operating budget of $20M.
Position:
Overview Chabad on Campus International (COCI) is seeking a strategic and creative Director of Engagement to lead the vision, development, and growth of the student engagement initiatives that empower campus Chabad Houses to reach and inspire more Jewish students. This role oversees COCI’s student engagement ecosystem – including immersive experiences, student leadership, and digital tools – ensuring programs are impactful, relevant, and scalable. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, execution, and engagement strategy experience, along with a deep understanding of Chabad philosophy, Shlichus, and campus culture.
This is a full-time, Brooklyn-based role.
Primary Responsibilities:
Vision & Program Growth:
● Develop, innovate, and expand new and existing engagement initiatives.
● Strengthen program quality and effectiveness through regular evaluation to ensure programs meet the needs of both Shluchim and students.
Leadership & Team Management:
● Lead and manage the engagement team’s successful execution of programs.
● Provide guidance, professional development, and foster a collaborative and results-driven team culture.
Campus Assessment & Strategy:
● Develop strategies for analyzing engagement needs and broadening global student engagement.
Project Development & Execution:
● Drive projects from conception to implementation and evaluation.
● Oversee planning, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation for engagement initiatives.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
● Build relationships with Chabad House directors and key partners.
● Collaborate across departments to align efforts with organizational goals.
● Stay informed on engagement trends through conferences and professional networks.
Qualifications:
● Strategic, innovative thinker with strong decision-making skills
● Proven experience in team leadership and project management
● Strong communication and interpersonal skills
● Deep understanding of Chabad philosophy, Shlichus, and campus life
● Minimum of 3 years of experience in engagement or related leadership roles
