Job Description

Position Summary: The Director of Marketing and Communications leads MANUP’s marketing, communications, and creative strategy across our brand, digital platforms, social media, advertising, and ministry campaigns. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines strategic direction with day-to-day execution while managing a network of creative partners to help MANUP reach more men and advance the mission. We welcome applications from both men and women.

The MANUP Mission: God said, “It’s not good for man to be ALONE,” so we created a place for men to belong and become the men God created them to be. Together, we’re building a global community of godly men by equipping leaders to help other men belong and become. Today, we lead 23 Bible study groups across Central Texas and support more than 5,000 members and leaders in all 50 states and 65 countries through our FREE Bible study curriculum and ministry coaching.

About MANUP: MANUP is a nonprofit men’s Bible study ministry based in Austin, Texas. For 14 years, we’ve been helping men grow in their faith through local Bible study groups, free curriculum, digital content, and events. We’re a small, highly collaborative team of three, supported by a network of creative partners and funded primarily through the generosity of donors who believe in our mission.

Who We're Looking For: We’re looking for a creative, strategic, and highly organized marketing leader who is an exceptional storyteller, sees the big picture, and knows how to turn ideas into action. Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who loves Jesus, understands the local church, believes in the mission of MANUP, and wants to use their gifts to help men belong and become the men God created them to be.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 7+ years of progressive marketing and communications experience, with demonstrated ability to lead projects, campaigns, and creative partners
  • Exceptional writing, editing, storytelling, and communication skills
  • Experience developing integrated campaigns across digital, social, email, text, and print
  • Experience managing websites, digital content, social media, email marketing, paid advertising, and analytics
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while balancing strategy with hands-on execution
  • Experience managing creative contractors, agencies, and vendors to deliver high-quality work on time and within budget
  • Strong alignment with MANUP’s Christian mission, values, and statement of faith

What You'll Lead: As the Director of Marketing and Communications, you’ll lead six strategic areas that shape how we tell our story, engage our audience, and advance the mission.

  1. Brand & Storytelling: Lead and protect the MANUP brand across every touchpoint. Tell compelling stories that demonstrate our impact and inspire men to belong, become, and join the mission
  2. Digital Platforms & Content: Oversee MANUP’s website, mobile app, online store, video, podcast, & curriculum platforms, ensuring weekly content is published accurately, on time, and with an excellent user experience.
  3. Social Media & Advertising: Develop and execute social media and digital advertising strategies that expand MANUP’s reach, engage our audience, drive measurable action, and optimize performance through analytics.
  4. Audience Communication: Lead MANUP’s email and text communication strategy, creating timely, targeted communications that engage our members, leaders, donors, customers, and event guests.
  5. Marketing Campaigns: Develop integrated campaigns across digital, social, email, text, and print that grow Bible study groups, drive event participation, increase curriculum use, and invite donors to join the mission.
